You would have to ask the producers as for why they decided to go with 'Na' over 'Namae', but it is probably for the sake of having a more compact title, yeah. Aesthetics would be my guess as well.

君の名は is just easier to say and looks cleaner. There is no functional difference between the two. Other than that, using 名 on it's own it's a little old fashioned, and you wont hear it in modern spoken Japanese.

knowing Makoto Shinkai's love of Japanese literature, it kind of makes sense that it is actually:
君の名は - it sounds a lot more poetic.
You can say both, actually 名 is more Aesthetics than 名前 and I think it is shorter and easier to memorize 君の名は。
If it was 君の名前は you couldn't make the 君の縄 joke. I think that is why.
