I haven't watched Samurai Deeper Kyo but I believe that what I am about to say is important nonetheless. The is NO SUCH A THING as 100% original content. Every story has been inspired by one that came before and by folktales behind that.
To answer you question, I suppose there might be some similarities. I don't think is intentional though. In my opinion inspiration becomes less defensible when Character Archs and plotlines flow parallel to the piece of work at hand. Example: Every cheap ass isekai or idol show out there.
