I gotta say this is probably the most interesting episode so far. The ending was very close to giving me goosebumps that i get from haikyuu. but these are different animes. In short, I like it.

This show has some problem with its time, I think, because it kinda makes you confused about when something is taking place. Maybe it's because so far we were following Kuroba, but this episode followed the new characters assembling the team.
Well Aoki has ulterior motives and I'll pretend that wasn't any sort of bait whatsoever and just be curious about what it might be.
ep was some trash imo, the tall dude is cool. the rest of cast consists of broken horrible personality setter, tall hinata but unlikable and worse and 3rd year hinata. they tried to force emotions and it didnt work
You'd like this story better if you stopped comparing it to haikyuu. 2.43 is more about the relationships between the teammates than the hype of the sport. The caricature personalities of the kids from Haikyuu wouldn't work for what 2.43 is trying to tell. Please, either embrace this story for what it is or go re-watch Haikyuu if you want the same thing.
im not comparing it to haikyu because i want it to be that or anything (i mean id love for it to be that good but like yknow), its just the easiest thing to compare it to. im gonna look for something i can relate it and be like "oh yeah its like _" im not saying it has to BE haikyu, if anything i want it to be its own thing, and i just want it to be good

In general lines:
Kuroba and Kimichika are now highschool freshmen. The senpais Aoki and Oda are successful in recruiting some of the freshmen, but needed to work around Kimichika to convince him his teammates would appreciate him in the team.

They have an accent, right? It sounds very different from the usual japanese we can hear in anime but I still like it. It's very interesting.
I am not fluent enough to be 100% sure, but since the story is set at Fukui, they should speak some Hokuriku dialect I guess.
You can hear it in other anime, like Chihayafuru for example, where some characters are coming from the same region.

This show has a drama aspect that Haikyuu doesn't have. People see volleyball as a concept and immediately spout "Haikyuu wannabee".
She probably compared it to something she already has seen
yeah fs its a lot more SOL, what it really just didnt hit with me was that like the end they wanted to make you feel for the characters when they have developed them as either A. an asshole or B. a semi-likable klutz. things are just kind of happening and i wish theyd take more time to progress everything
I mean there's not much of a story to enjoy yet but agree it's different from Haikyuu because even in genres 2.43 has slice of life unlike hk
