  Worth playing.Anime?Only for the sequals.After finishing the first 2 games, watch these two.One episode from zetsubou hen, one episode from mirai hen.

  Danganronpa is one of those annoying series where the content spans multiple different forms of media and because of this it's kind of a pain to experience things in order. If you're going to attempt it I wish you the best of luck.

  The correct order for consumption looks something like below

  1) Play Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc

  • Alternatively watch the below. (Highly recommend against watching over playing as the game is much much better)

  2) Play Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair

  • No anime alternative.

  3) Play Danganronpa Another Episode: Ultra Despair Girls

  • Yes it is a spinoff but it does have an impact on the canon storyline moving forward (although minimal so skipping this is possible if you really don't want to play it)
  • No anime alternative.

  4) Watch the below 2 shows simultaneously. Start with episode 1 of Mirai (Future) then watch episode 1 of Zetsubou (Despair) then episode 2 of Mirai then 2 of Zetsubou and so on.

  • Alternatively people have recommended binge watching all of Zetsubou first and then Mirai but I recommend sticking with the order the content was released, which is the alternating episodes pattern that I stated above.

  I know it's not a reboot but they announced it as a reboot and their goal was it that people play with this in mind to have a waaay better experience playing it because the game is about "truth or lie" and well it was all a lie even from the marketing aspect ^^ and even the whole Danganronpa story with all games and anime is all a lie :D this was made so good and I love it ^^

  Just watch a playthrough if you don't want to invest the hours into the game, the anime is pretty bad.
