While Shinji is a product of his Father and Zouken, his inferiority complex makes him do absolutely unforgivable things such as the OP mentioned. Spoilers for UBW true end He does mend things with Sakura in the end but I'm sure he's still an asshole. Extra Shinji is probably the best Shinji we got, though that bar is kinda low lol.
