second of all, there's nothing i hate more than something being described simply as being "overrated" and "underrated".
imo to value a piece of media solely by how "overrated" it is kind of misses the point, and it leaves out a lot of things that can be said about said media. i just feel that there's more discussion to be had if someone says "i enjoy x because a, b and c" and "i dislike x because a, b and c" instead of "i think x is overrated."
thirdly, i don't think oregairu is like any other "generic romcom" in the sense that it goes "haha boy..... and girl..... haha you know what that means ;) right ;) ha"
it depicts a loner character (in this case, hachiman) becoming less of a loner and growing as a person through the volunteer service club and together with yukino and yui, eg. going from a a self-sacrificial dickhead to a somewhat decent person (but what do i know, i haven't watch s3 yet. it probably does have more of the "romantic comedy" that's in the title)

No need for a huge text.
A huge % love this show for futile reasons, so this means it's overrated, but it does not mean you will not like it, in the end, it's all about tastes, sometimes the food smells and looks bad but after eating it you kinda like it even tho its not your favorite food it's something you can enjoy eating while you don't have money for better.
It's okay if you don't watch something overrated tho, i mean i holdn't eat something that smells and looks bad, but I'm just super cautious and full of pride, in my case i hold be ashamed if i watched 5-Toubun no Hanayome, I even regret knowing the current anime name RN.
