I've been following the manga and this is very much a battle shounen. It's slightly horror inspired, but it's not horror nor suspense.
The main inspirations, from what I know, are Bleach (in style and story) and HxH (in terms of actual battles).
It's about people using powers to destroy "curses" which are similar to Hollows in Bleach or Yokais and things like that.
