[Vol.3] tbh I created this post just to ask this question, to anyone else who's currently reading or has read Vol.3, is it just me or does the writing seem hard to read, fractured and at times even incoherent. I don't know if it's just the translation that isn't coming through or the original writing was worse than usual to translate, to me it just feels weird especially after having recently read the first two volumes which I found a treat to read, this 3rd volumes just feels off. I'm not talking about the story it self but the dialogue and the pacing are weird. Thx 4 reading this long ramble, and a virtual hug if you answer

Reading volume one right now and it's pretty good so far.
I'm sad to see this series is very unknown though

I just finished this series and I really loved the world and the characters.
The translation does have problems however, with several weirdly formed sentences and even missing letters/punctuation in some places.
It was a bit jarring in some cases, but I still managed to thoroughly enjoy the story.
(My biggest issue is with the manga-portion of the 6th volume. In order to make sense of it I have to start with the left-most page, while still reading each page from right to left, which is uncomfortable and inconsistent with both the helper-text and the other five books)

I'd definitely recommend this series. As others have mentioned, there are some parts where the translator didn't put in the necessary effort that could throw you off from your reading flow but I wouldn't say that it's a major problem because this only comes up in a few parts, the overall quality is still very good.
The volumes are on average 400 pages, so they have a decent length, the concept and the world are interesting and well thought out, the story has a general good flow to it, except for a few short parts when they jump too much on the same short timeline back and forth. It uses existing tropes but uses them well.
The other big positive is that the author actually completed the story. We get a decent ending, it isn't unnecessarily dragged out but it doesn't feel like it was abandoned or axed halfway, either. So yeah, an actual completed story.
I wouldn't say they are necessarily that much similar but I'd recommend it to those who enjoyed Dahlia in Bloom, and maybe even Ascendance of a Bookworm addicts can also get some relief out of it.

I not long picked up this series and only just started book 3, i'm enjoying it so far and i really wish it'll get a full anime adaptation one day fingers crossed.

I really liked volume 1, it felt like I was playing an atelier series game while reading it, the steps Mariela takes to create potions were connected and interesting and I appreciated the amount of detail that went into explaining the steps of synthesizing potions.
Volumes 2 and 3 were incoherent and terrible, Mariela was no longer a character at all, every couple pages introduced someone new that I did not care about, the villain of volume 2 was dealt with instantly with no real consequences to the city or its people, volume 3's villain was boring and accompanied confusing rhetoric on slaves within this world that I felt contradicted itself regularly. I do not know how much of the writing problems were on the end of the translation, but usually a good story will shine through a mediocre translation, and there was not a good story anywhere here.
Volumes 4 and 5 were okay I guess but 2 and 3 had soured the experience for me so much that it was hard to enjoy.
Volume 6 I liked. It was hard to get started but once I got into the flow of the story for this volume it was enjoyable. I think more stories like this with somewhat self contained adventures would have been a lot more enjoyable than Mariela hanging out in town while everyone else resolves things for her without her knowledge.
