It's getting delayed for something based on the anime.

Maybe quality or something going on during those airing times? I don't really get any good info out of their main site, just transmission duration changes ( from 20 mins to 24+ mins )

Production issues it seems.
In 3 episodes, God Eater has been worked on by 11 animation directors, 72 key animators and 55 2nd key animators at 8 different studios. See this.
Lots and lots of outsourcing. God Eater is killing ufotable.

The <i>first</i> episode was delayed already. Shit's just not going well for ufotable, and it's probably gonna keep getting worse. Hopefully not Bones-level worse
